by Martha Sharp Joukowsky, Brown University

the Nabataeans, the inhabitants of Petra at the height of its power and
importance. The evening continues with a focus on the splendid
architecture and, in particular, an emphasis on the Great Temple and the
contributions of the Temple excavations to our understanding of the
social, artistic, intellectual, religious, and commercial life of Petra.
